The Laramar Ballroom

The Laramar Ballroom is a historic event venue in downtown Fort Dodge, Iowa, available for organisers planning weddings, corporate gatherings, dinners, concerts and other celebrations. Its home is a brick building dating from 1904, originally built as the Fort Dodge Armory, giving events a distinctive setting with a strong sense of local history.

The two-storey space combines a main floor with a wraparound balcony, offering different ways to arrange guests and shape the atmosphere of an occasion. A main-floor cocktail lounge provides a place for guests to gather, while an upstairs bar and a separate speakeasy-style lounge add further character. The venue also has a 20 by 30 foot stage, making it suitable for live entertainment, presentations and other programmes that benefit from a dedicated performance area.

For event planners, the ballroom can serve as a backdrop for a formal wedding reception, a business dinner, a company event or a concert. Its blend of traditional architecture and event-focused facilities offers scope for both seated occasions and livelier gatherings. The venue team invites organisers to get in touch to discuss their event and booking requirements. With its historic brickwork, balcony, lounge areas and prominent stage, The Laramar Ballroom gives hosts a memorable Fort Dodge location for bringing guests together.
