A place where past and future meet in a vibrant meeting place on the IJssel. With its robust, industrial character and rich history, Het Koelhuis forms an inspiring backdrop for a wide variety of gatherings. You will find us centrally located in the eastern Netherlands, directly behind the NS train station in Zutphen, by the harbor and next to a parking garage.

The building has five floors with 11 flexibly usable spaces. These are ideally suited for conferences, business meetings, cultural programming, staff parties, product presentations, photoshoots, and hybrid events. Het Koelhuis adapts effortlessly. The high ceilings, characteristic details, and visible traces of the past give each space its own unique industrial atmosphere. At the same time, the spaces are tastefully furnished and equipped with modern facilities for both comfort and quality.

Our experienced team is happy to help with the organization of your event. From the initial idea to full realization: we provide support with concept development, production, technical aspects, styling, and communication.

Sustainability plays a natural role in this. The building has been repurposed with respect for the past and furnished with reused materials, energy-efficient installations, and a strong focus on quality and longevity. The Koelhuis is therefore a proud holder of the Green Key Gold certificate.

Since 2012, Het Koelhuis has been developed by Studio Hoogeveen & Van Tilburg. Based on a vision of 'slow development', the building grows step by step along with its surroundings and users. This approach has resulted in a vibrant place where culture, meeting, and entrepreneurship come together.

Whether you are organizing a large-scale event or an intimate gathering, Het Koelhuis offers the space, flexibility, and energy to make it something special. The industrial spaces are equipped with modern facilities, such as color-adjustable LED lighting and a high-speed fiber optic connection. Furthermore, the spaces feature pleasant acoustics, suitable for both large productions and intimate gatherings.
