The Magic of Tomorrowland: Legendary Festival Launches First Indoor Spectacle in China

Tomorrowland, the world-renowned music festival born in Belgium, is set to embark on a groundbreaking journey in Asia with its first-ever indoor show: The Magic of Tomorrowland.

On November 22, 2025, Shanghai’s Bund waterfront will play host to this dazzling spectacle at the newly developed HERO DOME, marking the first time the festival brings its signature experience to China in an entirely indoor setting.

This ambitious production promises to blend Tomorrowland’s world-class stage design, immersive storytelling, and cutting-edge technology into a new format designed specifically for indoor audiences. Far from a simple concert, The Magic of Tomorrowland will transport attendees into an imaginative world built around the 'Paperworld' theme. In this fantastical universe, music, light, visuals, and performance art collide in a seamless, cinematic experience.

Unlike the typical large-scale outdoor festivals for which Tomorrowland is known, this new show is crafted for intimacy, intensity, and high-impact emotion. It's a reimagining of the Tomorrowland experience, tailored to an indoor venue that amplifies every detail of the production, from the soundscapes to the visuals. For the debut in Shanghai, Tomorrowland will curate a unique lineup featuring both international headliners and emerging Chinese electronic music artists, many of whom will be making their debut on a Tomorrowland stage. This cultural fusion not only reflects the global spirit of the brand but also underscores its commitment to nurturing talent and bridging the gap between East and West.

The event is being developed through a significant collaboration between Tomorrowland, Hero Esports, INS Land, Budweiser, and artist agency One World Artists. Together, they aim to create a new benchmark for live experiences in China, blending Tomorrowland's visionary approach with local innovation. Clinton Lau of Hero Esports emphasised that this would be much more than a traditional music event. "It will be designed from the ground up to create intimacy, intensity, and impact", he stated. Tomorrowland International CEO Bruno Vanwelsenaers echoed the sentiment, noting the strong appetite in China for meaningful and immersive experiences. "We're bringing not just music, but a story, a world, and a feeling that people carry with them long after the night ends", he said.

This new venture is part of a broader strategic vision to bring the Tomorrowland experience to audiences across Asia, with China serving as the first chapter. Following successful international expansions such as the virtual experiences during the pandemic and a recent showcase at the iconic Sphere in Las Vegas, the move into the Asian market represents a natural evolution for the brand. It's also a signal to the global events industry that the future of live entertainment lies not just in massive outdoor gatherings, but also in crafted, immersive, and story-driven indoor productions that travel well and adapt to local cultures.

Tickets for The Magic of Tomorrowland are expected to go on sale in early September. Fans can pre-register through Tomorrowland's official WeChat community and the INS Land WeChat mini-program to gain early access, receive exclusive merchandise offers, and participate in special giveaways. With demand already building among Tomorrowland’s global fanbase and the rapidly growing Chinese electronic music scene, the show is poised to be one of the most talked-about events of the year.

As Tomorrowland prepares to bring its flagship summer festival back to Belgium in July 2025 under the theme 'Orbyz', the Shanghai event offers a glimpse into the brand's next era — one that merges creativity with culture, innovation with emotion, and global spectacle with local connection.
