Many event security companies are faced with an acute shortage of personnel. The industry is sounding alarm bells in several newspapers.
Due to the corona pandemic, there were no events for a long time and many employees have looked for other work. This does not only apply to security guards, but also tent and stage builders, caterers, ... are struggling with personnel shortages. Earlier, the event trade associations also denounced the staff shortage.
The festival summer is getting closer and we have all been looking forward to it for so long. Although the shortage of security personnel could still throw a spanner in the works. "We see a strong increase in demand for security officers on eventplanner.ie. Many organizers are planning extra weekends or events," says Kevin Van der Straeten. It will be exciting to see if the industry can keep up with rising demand.
After all, sufficient security personnel is a precondition for events to take place. So it is possible that police and mayors will cancel some events.
