For our contemporary and creative meeting venue, we are seeking a full-time Meeting & Event Employee starting June 1st. You are one of the key links between our guests and ECC Leiden: someone who shows initiative, switches gears quickly, and provides guests with a warm welcome and a professionally organized experience – from arrival to departure.
Job description:
As a Meeting & Event Employee, you are responsible for ensuring that meetings, conferences, and events run smoothly. You ensure:
- Setting up the perfect room layout, including technical equipment (lighting, video & sound);
- A flawless execution of the program, in which you support the guests where necessary;
- Setting up and serving coffee/tea breaks, lunch, and drinks/dinner;
- Keeping all meeting rooms and hotspots neat and tidy, including general areas such as The Lounge, The Bar, and the coffee corners;
- Identifying last-minute requests or adjustments and proactively addressing them;
- Contributing ideas for improvements in service and experience.
The catering is delivered fresh daily by catering company Dames Dietz; your task is to present it to our guests in an attractive manner and set it up. You also help prepare the rooms for the next day and ensure that everything is in tip-top order.
Do you have little experience with the tasks mentioned above? No problem, we are happy to teach you!
Profile
- Presentable, enthusiastic and service-oriented;
- Flexible availability (usually during the day, Mon-Fri, sometimes in the evening or on weekends);
- Minimum MBO level and an eager-to-learn attitude;
- Strong communication skills in Dutch and you manage well in English;
- Affinity with (and preferably experience in) hospitality, events, the catering industry, or the hotel sector;
- Resilient and organized, even during peak moments;
- A flexible attitude towards other duties, particularly during quieter weeks;
- Experience in a similar role and/or an affinity for technology is a plus.
Job offer
- Salary according to the Hospitality Collective Labour Agreement (based on 38 hours);
- 25 vacation days, travel allowance, and a company laptop and phone;
- A contract for 7 months, with a one-month probationary period. Thereafter by mutual agreement;

Where will you be working?
ECC Leiden is a modern and inspiring meeting and event venue with a warm atmosphere, plenty of greenery, a large terrace with a Greenhouse, a cozy bar, and 20 meeting rooms and creative hotspots. An eye-catcher, for example, is The Pool, one of our creative spaces; here you can brainstorm or hold meetings at the bottom of a swimming pool.
With an area of 5,000 m², we welcome groups of 2 to 1,000 people here. For large events (up to 1,000 guests), you will assist in our adjacent event hall , The Hall. No day is the same, which makes your work varied and challenging.
